The Blog

We have been posting and commenting on this class blog for the majority of the semester. Did your experience writing on the blog change the way you write in class? Did it do anything at all? Did it help you reflect on the readings for the class? Would you like blogs to be included in other classes as well? What are your overall feelings about the blog? Does your experience with the blog make you want to take some online classes or experience do more school related work online?

The blog made me more aware of writing for an audience. When writing on the blog I wrote as if I was talking to one of my friends. I liked when the blog included the readings because it was nice to see what everyone else got from the reading. Some of the opinions and ideas I would never have thought of myself. I think blogs should be included in a lot of classes because it gives you the opportunity to state how you feel without being criticized. I really enjoyed the blog and thought it was a very useful tool to analyze American myths. It doesn't necessarily make me want to take an online class but I do think that it is a useful tool to use with a class.

My favorite part about the blog is that it is anonymous. This way you can be honest about everything your writing and not have to worry what people will think of you. This is a good thing in that everyone can give their honest opinion about the topic.
I would like to see blogs included in more classes. Blogs could be a useful way to share information about that class.

The blog has really opened new areas in my way of thought. During this semester I was able to see what other people saw or thought about the readings in class. Looking at other perspectives allowed me to think differently of what I have read, but I did not agree completely with what others thought. To me the blog was a place to express and share opinions on the class readings as well as the world itself.

I think that this blog did help a little bit. It helped me talk about the readings and what i felt. Also it helped me become aware of my audience. I was already used to writting like this because of stuff like facebook and myspace, but it still helped me become a better writer.

The blog helped me reflect on the stories we were reading. I felt the blog was an overall good experience except for the fact that it was easy to forget to write on it.

This blog was a good experience overall. Though it definitely didn't change the way I write, it did help me understand the topic and the issues presented in class. It would be very interesting if blogs were incorporated into more classes, as they help students share their opinions and better understand the material.

no it didn't I feel like the internet allows you to abbreviate everything. I forgot to blog on time and would end up doing them all at once this eperience has taught me that I wouldn't want to do an online class.

I think that any writing improves your overall writing, but throughout the semester I did realize many spelling errors and what not. I liked that they reviewed the readings, but I thought I could have just written it and handed it in during class. I would not like blogs in other class, I don't really like them. I never have.

Writing blogs made me more aware of what I was writing. I tried to make it seem like I wasn't a complete idot. I wanted words to be spelled right, I didn't want to offend anyone on what I was saying. So I was definitely more aware of what I was writing than I usually am. Blogging is a good thing, I don't know if it should be used in other classes. Maybe in discussion classes or something along those lines. But not so much for a science or math class. Just my opinion
