In the Jefferson essay he talks about differences between white and black people. He mentions how black people require less sleep and are better at music and how white people are more capable of love. What are your thoughts on this? Would you consider these to be myths or true?

First of all i do not believe that any race can sleep less then another or have any other physical advantages . The thing that determines a persons sleeping time, musical talents, etc. is genetics, and life experiences. If a person has a lot of musically talented people in their blood line they are likely to be good at music as well. Or if a person requires little sleep it is becuase of their genetics and the sleeping pattern that they have made their body accustomed to over time.
I believe that this isnt true. People are people and we are all capable of whatever we want to be capable of. No matter what our skin color is.
I completely agree with kevsterz, I also do not beleive that any race can sleep less than another or have any physical advantages. I would not say that any race had more musical talent because that cannot be proved. There is no doubt that there are more black musicans in the Hip Hop Music Industry, but there are more white muscians in the Country Music Industry, everything eventually evens out. We all can do anything we set our minds to, regardless of our skin color.
First of all I don't believe that race has anything to do with love or sleep capacity. Everyone is an individual who makes his or her own decisions and has his or her own talents. All that mentioned is stereo typical.
I have no idea how the color of someone's skin can affect their talents and their ability to love. That's the weirdest thing I have read, I was interested in his opinions of the differences between races, but I think it is so silly to take a color and attach things like music and love to it.
I dont believe that any race can sleep more than another, and that everyone can have the same amount of sleep and expertise in anything they devote themselves to. Culture may encourage people to sleep more or to pursue different types of careers but ever person of any race is ultimately able to decide how they and what they do.
I disagree completly because I know a lot of people who do not fall into these racial categories. I don't believe that your race can determine how musically inclined you are or your sleeping schedules.
